I had a C several years ago that would not hold torque on the head nuts. I ended up removing them and using 1/2" bolts instead. Had to play with the length and use of flat washers to get them to the right depth. You don't want anything too short (don't grab enough threads) or too long that would bottom out and give a false torque reading. To get the studs out I put two head nuts together and tightened them against each other, then turned the bottom one to remove the stud. Stan(VA).
