Casting date codes

I was cleaning up our '47 M yesterday and was checking date codes just to see how close they matched. On the transmission case the code was 11-11-47. The year was indicated by numbers, not the letter Q. Also, there were the letters CWC cast near the part number and the date code. On the left side there was a faint IHC logo cast in. I looked at a '46 parts tractor and it was the same way - 10-7-46 - and the CWC. Were they making so many tractors at this time that the foundry could not keep up and so they contracted out some of the foundry work? The '47 has disc brakes, and thanks to the information on the board, we now know they are Lambert brakes.
