Cub Problems

My 48' Cub will not start. This happened when I tried to start it this weekend. It will fire once and then nothing. If I give it a little ether, it will run for a few seconds and then quit. It ran fine before. Any hints as to what to start with? Carb. recently rebuilt and is clean. Plenty of fuel too.
