A apoligize on my unclear thread. What I meant by swapping the plug wires was trying a different plug wire from the same distributor post to the spark plug. Get the number one piston on top dead center on the compression stroke. Now note the position of the rotor. The distributor post that is in line with the rotor is the one that wires to #1 spark plug. If the rotor turns clockwise, then the next post is wired to #3, then 4 and then 2.
