I'm pretty sure you need to know the serial number or year of the tractor. It's my understanding that earlier ones were the gray color and later ones were red, but I don't know the exact changeover time. We had one on our North Dakota farm in the 1940s/1950s but I was young enough then to not ever think about serial numbers or years of manufacture although I remember it was gray (with lots of rust!) and had the roadgear transmission - 4 forward gears.
