I've gotten my 1940 M-D O-4 running pretty well, except that the over center hand clutch won't go over center and stay engaged. I've opened the bottom plate, released the locking tab and "attempted" to turn the adjusting disk with no luck yet. The manual says to turn clockwise to adjust, and not to create "too much resistance" to engagement. Since that is what I've got, should I try to go counterclockwise? Any good tricks for moving the adjusting disk? Does this type of problem mean the clutch is almost worn out? (Doesn't feel like it, as if I hold it, it bites and everything moves along well in any gear.) Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dave.
