independant pto (300)

My 300 has the provisions for the independant pto, but i don't have the pto unit itself, can i just go to the salvage yard and get one, or would i have to do some internal work to the trans. I noticed that there is a shaft were the pto unit would hook up.

Also, the same thing goes for a belt-pulley, can i go to my nearest salvage and grab a belt pulley unit to put on it to do some belt work.
