sounds like you got one from the CONTINETAL engine that was used on the combines their bracket on the end was canted some if you line up in the correct registration it will work there is no way of advancing or retarding the spark read the manual they fire on top dead center just make sure you are on compression it will work the rotor should be lined up with the edge of the top cover of the coiljust between this area and the clip that holds the cap on it is hard to describe but it will workbeen there done that good luck gene b
