I have overhauled a couple of touch controls. I don't think I would use any gasket sealer anywhere on this unit. Don't know what to tell you about the spring. I overhauled my two units in 1998 and all parts including that spring were still available at that time. Try looking in Red Power magazine. There are many business ads dealing in NOS parts. Maybe one of these people can help locate the spring. There is a man named Bob Deiner always advertising to buy or sell Super c, 200 and 230 parts in the classifieds. I have talked to him before and he is very good on these tractors. Maybe he could advise you about using your old spring or where to order a new one.
