Thats one of the wonders of the world. Mine baled 45 acers of hay without any problem, last load on the way to barn aloud bang ,and the crank broke in two. no reason for it to happen but it did. you should contact, Les repair he apeers to know quite a bit about the 504's Good luck Craig
