Every major casting on old Farmalls has a casting date. A 1939 will be marked month.day.I a 1940 will be marked month.day.J a 1941 will be marked month.day.K etc with O being skipped. These marks can be found on engine block,clutch housing, transmisson housing, rear axle housing, rear wheel castings and other castings.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
