We had a great discussion about this a few weeks ago. Distillates then and todays kerosene differ greatly. Todays kerosene is much more refined and clear in colour. A distillate was any thing cracked from the crude oil distillation process ie furnace oil, stove oil coal oil ,diesel fuel kerosene and various types of oilbased product and any combination of these ingredients, but one thing I always maintain..the Farmall M pulled better on kerosene than gasoline, but you had to have it set up correctly. I heard my Dad make this claim many times...get the old M hot, switch her over and she would put out the black smoke and pull like a trooper! Yes by todays standard and prices no one will use kerosene except for naustalgia...I've got an H set up and will be putting some kerosene through it one of these days. Keep on plowing..Mike in Exeter Ontario
