the starter on my super A has stood the 12 volt test for many starts. it starts easily, so i do not have to crank for a long period of time. if yours is this way, starter will last for a long time. by the way, the 6 volt coil must be changed to 12 volt, and you need to install a ignition resistor on the "hot wire" feeding the coil, so as to keep from replacing the points too frequently.
