Hi there, When I got my '98 Z71 I bought one of those T adapters to plug into the vehicle wireing to get turns signals and tail lights. That comes out in a 4 way flat plug. I think it was around $15. Then I got a 4 way flat to 6 way round adapter that you just plug in the other wires for electric brakes. and constant power. They run around 20 bucks. (somehow I got mine for about $14) I didn't use any factory wireing for the brakes of constant power. I ran a wire up into the dash to the electric brake controller. and then another to the battery(fused) for constant power) You should be able to pick up a decent electric brake controller for around $60. Maybe look on ebay for one. From your description you have just hooked up your blue(elec brakes) wire staright to the battery which would cuase the brakes to be on at full power all the time. the other posibility is that you have the electric brakes and the constant power pins reversed. Some manufactures do reverse those 2 pins. Email me if you need more help.
