We, just last evening, put vinyl decals on my WD-9. Yes, they are individual letters and numbers but we did NOT apply them individually. They are all in place on a thin paper that you peel of the front of them after they are in place. Very easy, very quick, no water. While I have had less experience with the mylar I have to vote for the vinyl. In my opinion they are closer to original because they are individual letters and numbers. They don't look like decals, they look like lettering. But they are more expensive.
