In Ken Updike's book "IHC Number Series 1955-1985" He says there were more 300 Utilities made than 300 Farmalls, but I can't remember the number, seems like it was over 20,000 though. As far as Your 300U beeing hard on gas, You have to work them pretty hard to burn over 2 gal. an hour, but the Utilitys run faster than the Farmalls, 2000 RPM vs 1750, so they will burn around 3 GPH or a little more at full load.
