Snap Coupler was Allis-Chalmers. The upper arms just lifted the implement, the pull was actually supplied by a single arm that ran up under the rearend of the tractor. Most of the implements were pretty short coupled on those old WD and WD-45's. Allis also adopted the 3-pt. in the mid 60's and abandoned the Snap Coupler. The S-C didn't have the ability to create any down pressure, but They did have a pretty neat Traction-Booster feature. Unfortunately the Gauge for the dash is NLA. I've been to 2 A-C shows this Summer, My friend I go to shows with has 5 D-17's (4 are diesel), a 220, a 5020, a D-14 and a D-12 Industrial. I'm getting pretty well educated on Allis'!! And A-C is the featured brand at the Mount Pleasant Show in Iowa this Labor Day!

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
