Farmalittle - here's a step by step: 1 - Start the motor and run about 2/3 throttle. 2 - Take a jumper wire and connect the regulator base to a good ground (grounded battery terminal). If the ammeter shows a charge, clean up the regulator base - it has a bad ground. If no charge... 3 - Take a jumper wire and connect the BAT and GEN terminals at the generator. If the ammeter now shows a charge, replace the regulator. If still no charge... 4 - Take a jumper wire and connect the regulator FLD terminal to a good ground. If the ammeter shows charge, replace the regulator. If still no charge... 5 - Take a jumper and connect the generator F terminal to a good ground. If the ammeter shows a charge, there's a break in the wiring harness between the generator and regulator. If still no charge... 6 - Replace the generator. (Good idea to replace the regulator at the same time...) Good luck!
