Check the fluid level of your hyd fluid. You may have popped an o-ring in your hyd pump. This will let all your hyd fluid run into your crankcase. And needless to say a half gallon of extra oil in there will get past your rings and make it smoke really well. I know, this happened to my 48 SA. If you have the oil pan petcocks rather than a dip-stick you won't notice that extra oil.
