Forgot - make sure you take out the 4 bolts that hold the bearing retainer cover to the casting, otherwise the axle won't drive out. To get things back together you will have to drop the gear oil pan to lift the drive gear up for aliignment and to recover the gear spacer that probably fell down. Make sure you keep track of all the parts, particularly the gear spacer washer.
