If your tractor had the metal type or sock type filter in it , then the paper filter may not fit in the base. Don't try to force it!!!! you will be looking for a new base that way. Bases are around but getting scarcer. The paper filter used an adapter that screws into the bottom hole in the base and also a different diameter bolt that goes through the filter.I had a ton of problems getting the one on my 1929 10-20 put together to use a paper filter. The rod would not go through the paper filter I got from Rice, and the bottom of the filter would not go into the base. I went ahead and used a metal element. If you find a metal element make sure it has no dents or dings in it, it will pass dirty oil through that spot. You can fix it if you acid clean the ding and solder the dent closed. The cloth sock type is almost totally impossible to find in good shape.I may have an extra base that "might" have the paper type adaper and rod still in it, but I would have to look at it. The base part I know is broken but you might get the parts you need to get yours going out of the inside.
