Your correct the TA was a kinda weak spot in IH's of this vintage, the recall when the 460/560 was just released was due to the final drive and rear axle bearings failing, not the TA. There probably was some common parts between the 460 and the 560, but the final drive housings are a lot closer in size to an H than an M. The 6-cyl. engines were more powerful than the 4-cyl. counterparts, and they ran faster, but all the 460/560's I saw all either idled, or they ran wide open, You couldn't run them at 1200 RPM to rake hay! Hit a small incline and they'd bog down, give them some throttle and they'd buzz all the way to 1800!
