Thanks Bruce: I didn't notice any oil in the water. The water level was a little low, but I could see it. Don't feel the tractor been use recently but had been repainted and oil and filter had been changed according to owner. I now get the thought that he did'nt want me messing with the oil. Appreciate you help. Harry
