Thanks Bob, I have Champion D21s. So that is not it. The plugs have black soot on them though and the spark plug chart says it is running rich or has a weak ignition. I adjusted the carb. float level to no avail. I guess I need to check the magneto. Also, someone mentioned poor oil ring control could be putting too much oil in the combustion chamber. Tractor misfires under load or dies.
