No wonder your amp gauge is showing a negative. I thought I had covered this but maybe it was with someone else.

Wish positive ground and the amp gauge facing down.

Hot wire from the starter post goes to the left amp post.

The lights, coil switch wire and the wire from the bat terminal on the voltage regulator go on the right amp post.
