Yes, the newer ones with 2 vent holes should be safer. Everyone can use whatever they prefer, but I can't imagine willingly and knowingly using a gas cap that will allow gas to slosh out on a hot engine when a better one is available...but maybe that's just me. All my IH tractors have safety caps. I wish all my others had them too. George Willer
