Long Bar Short Bar Tire Tread Design

Does anybody have experience with the Kelly Springfield long bar short bar rear tire tread design?

I recently purchased a standard bar design tread rear tire. I am having problems with the back of the lugs breaking. The tire rep. will stand behind the tires and would like to change the tread pattern. He said the long/short bar is a better design tire. I have no clue. I have never used such a tire.

I want to think my overhaul produced too much tractor for the Kelly Springfield tires. In reality, I am sure the problem is a faulty tire. Just curious.
