Dennis: If the penetrating oil doesn't work, I think I would try heating the nut with a propane torch to try to expand and loosen it. If that doesn't work, you may want to consider buying or renting a nut splitter. You will need access to the nut from the side, but from the assembly drawings it looks like the access is O.K. If you're not familiar with nut splitters, there are pictures of them in the J.C. Whitney catalog and probably also on their web site. Mark W.
