DOC - I used to drive for a trucking company that the repair shop Manager had been the Shop Manager for a big midwestern IHC truck dealership. He also said the same thing about IHC trucks! As to the axle clamps, Sometime in the last 57 yrs the 1-piece clamp probably broke, and IHC was actually really good at obsoleting parts, the 2-piece clamps would be supplied as the replacement parts.
