I have an 1949 farmall cub. I need to find out how to figure which part to purchase. 2 & 3rd gears are making a terrible noise when engaged. I took off the shift lever case. I noticed that on one of the gears had a couple of teeth missing. Then someone else found a shift fork piece broken. I called to get a replacement part and they asked me which gear. My question is how do I know which one it is? If you are looking straight down into the shift assembly it is the second gear on the upper most portion towards the gas tank? Secondly, how to you get the rods out to put the new gears back in once I find out which one to purchase. It didn't come with any manuals. Ok guys quit laughing, I know I'm a girl and don't know all the proper names for the parts, but I just purchased this tractor to use on my horse farm and I need to get it working again so any assistance or diagrams would be greatly appreciated. Don't worry I will have someone do the work (hopefully) not too many people here know about this tractor (scary thought). Thanks,
Desiree Tractorless in Kentucky
