I think you should consider that the hole in the block could be the least of your problems. The Crankshaft is certainly heavily damaged and may be beyond turning. There could be damage to the camshaft and other pieces. I think I'd look for a short block to rebuild, and the head probably needs work also. I donot have any experience with any farmall engines throwing rods but I have built race engines for many years and have yet to see one throw a rod and be fixable. I look at those massive rods in my farmall and wonder how on earth anyone could break one! Especially on an engine that turns less than 2000 RPM!
