It is natural to assume the wide fronts and narrow fronts have camber for the same reasons. You will really impress your wife if you explain the difference. The narrow front has camber simply to get the bottoms closer together for easier steering, while still allowing clearance at the top for the pedestal. The wide front is a different case. The camber and king pin inclination working together cause the tractor to rise when in a turn. The weight of the tractor causes the wheels to tend to return to straight ahead. (because it is lower then) We are so used to this effect that we don't even notice it, but without camber, the steering would wander badly. You will notice it if you note how much easier it is to return to straight ahead than it is to turn. Camber and inclination working together also put the point of rolling resistance in line with the king pin. George Willer
