I converted 2 Farmall B's. Took generator to the generator shop and had the field windings changed. MAKE SURE they understand the tractor is low rpm and the generator will only see about 2200 RPM. This will tell them what field windings to use (more winds and smaller wire), otherwise it won't charge. If done correctly it will work like a charm. I also had the starters converted, although most people say that it is not necessary. Your Magneto is separate from the electrical system, the wire going to it is a ground wire to shut it off. Change the light bulbs, switch the wires on the ammeter if you are going from Positive ground system to Neg ground 12V. EASY and worth it.
