I completely disassembled the transmission and differential to clean, replace all bearings and seals. It was making a lot of noise in 1st and reverse so I replaced the first/reverse sliding gear. I did not replace the first or second gears on the countershaft, so it is possible the shavings are coming from the new sliding gear wearing real quick due to meshing with worn first and reverse gears. I can't be sure, though. The bearings seem to spin freely, and they are brand new.
