These new seals are only half as thick as the old. The old ones were combination felt and leather. The new seal sometimes rides on the portion of shaft that is warn, hense the leakage. I've heard of guys using seal sleeves(???) don't know much about them. You could try to locate seal on different area of shaft, since the new ones are only half as thick. When I have an area that seems to want to leak, I'll double the seals up, put two in, since their half as thick. I've had pretty good luck that way. I also always grease the shaft and the seal up good to aid in installation
