While holding the distributor shaft can you rotate the cam a few degrees back and forth? This is the cam that the weights move when they sling out as speed increases. You should see the weights move in and out as you rotate it back and forth (only a few degrees). Mine was frozen in place, giving me no advance. The high price of new parts is why I bought another distributor and make one good one out of two. I used a very light coat of grease in places that needed lubricating.
