Derek,
You will need to pop the cover on your generator. If you have three brushes, with the third brush in a fixed position, you will need a two function regulator. If you have only two brushes [shunt generator], you will need a three function regulator. The terminals on the regulator are marked as: "G" for the armature on the generator, this will be the 10 ga wire; "F" for the field on the generator, this will be the 14 ga or small gauge wire; "B" will be your lead to the battery, on the negative terminal [via of ammeter]; "L" will be you load or lights. Terminals are marked the same on both styles of regulators. I can send you diagrams of either regulator system or the cutout style charging system. Good luck!
