Exhaust valves normally run about bright red to orange hot in all gasoline engines that are working at full load. Thats why they use special steel alloys for exh. valves that can withstand temps over 2000 to 2500 Deg. The old slow running low comp. engines are exceptions to this, but the 560 runs fast enough to qualify. Even the exh. manifolds glow dull red over the exh. ports of the head. Makes those old Gas tractors ALL the more amazing that they still run as good as they do!
