Dave - First make sure the clutch linkage is properly adjusted (about 1" of free play measured at the pedal). If you have another tractor to pull with, do this: Remove the coil wire and put it in your pocket (so the motor can't start...) Then put the transmission in 4th gear, depress the clutch pedal ALL THE WAY and pull the BN forward 10 or 20 feet - the motor should spin. Now unhook, go around back of the tractor and pull it backward the same distance. After a few repetitions of this back and forth pulling, the resulting torque reversals on the clutch will often break it free. If you don't have something to pull with, this has worked for me too: Start the motor, let it warm up a few minutes, then idle it as slow as possible. Get the tractor onto hard, level ground. Now "snap" shift the transmission into 1st gear - if you do it right it won't hurt the transmission. The tractor will now be moving forward slowly. Then snap shift up into 2nd, 3rd and finally 4th (motor still at low idle). Once your in 4th, open the throttle, step on the clutch and stand on both brakes. (Helps if you do this part while going uphill - you're trying to get as much load as possible on the motor/clutch...) If you are lucky the clutch will break free.
