Wisconsin Ron, You can a local Barnes & Noble Bookstore they have a couple that I like very much.
They are: "Farmall Letter Series Tractors" by Guy Fay and Andy Kraushaar listed for $19.96
(This book deals with the Farmall Letter Series Tractors, and is very helpful to someone restoring a tractor), and "International-Harvester Tractor Data Book" by Guy Fay listed for $11.65 (This book deals with serial numbers, casting dates, production numbers, and so fourth). They have more books by other writers as well, such as Ken Updike as you said. The link to Barnes & Noble is attached below. Good Luck

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
