Dan, an H would run most square balers but I'll tell you a story. Yesterday my son in law and I had a small field of hay ready..5 acres and I brought the baler down with the Farmall M and a wagon intending to hook the 584 on the baler. He thought I wanted to use the M and he headed for the field. After a while we went and got the other tractor... the M would shear pins and we could not controll it with rpm and ground speed for the conditions of the windrows and without live power you bunged the baler when you hit the clutch to shift it out of gear.. if the conditions are right and the rows not too heavy it would work fine..that darned old M wouldn't slow down or quit,it was much easier with live power and hi-lo range for the conditions we had..you'will have lots of power with the H.. you'll need more patience than I had.Good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
