Converting to 12 volt system?

I'm converting a M farmall to 12 volt. It has a magneto and I am Comfused! I have the wire lead that comes from the Alternator (marked Bat.) going to the amp meter. Have switched the battery to negative ground. Then I have two other terminals on the altenatot that I can not figure out where they should go? Since the tractor does not have a coil. I think one of the leads will not be used. Some how, I need to excite the altenator so it will charge, but have had no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
