The Top shaft is splined in both the H and the M. The bottom shaft that drives the Lift-All and PTO, has the gears Keyed to the shaft on the H and the gears SPLINED to the shaft on the M. I think the Hubs forged into the gears are even oblong on the H because of this. Never had my Super H apart that far except when I pulled the Belt Pulley off it. I was more interested in getting it back together, and even that was 20 yrs ago!
