Ed if the brakes are working, then the job is pretty easy.

1. Remove the horizontal tension spring.
2. Unhook the yoke from the brake band arm.
3. Push the left brake pedal down and block or lock it with the right one. That will move the vertical arm that is bolted on the brake shaft out of the way.
4. Remove the 5 hex head bolts that bolts the cover to the transmission casting. I use either a 1/2" or 9/16" (can't remember which) deep well socket with an extension and rachet.
5. Slide the cover off. Be careful not to pinch you right fingers while pulling the cover off. That cover will just clear the vertical drawbar clamp assembly that is on the axle.
