Mike, I am experiencing a similar problem with my cub. I just finished a rebuild but I did not change the valve springs. I havn't ran a compression check yet but intend to. I was told it may be a problem with the govenor. I was also told to re- check the tune up specs. I have the manual and it does call for .015 on all valves. I think setting them at .013 may cause them to open and close pre-maturely. On that I am not 100% sure. I have a couple of friends droping by this weekend to try to help me correct my problem.
