When mine had the one finger out of adjustment after I installed the clutch and put the halves back together, I called the IH dealer where I bought it from. The service tech told me to adjust the one to match the other 2 fingers. That's what I did cause that's what I was instructed to do. The next time I do one of these clutch jobs, hopefully never :-), I'm going to check the height setting before installation. Thanks goodness for the hole in the bottom of the bell housing. Just enough room to put a couple of wrenches into.
