The 574D has a vent tube on the crankcase. This tube has to be clogged to have this occurrence. I am not saying something detrimental did not happen. I am only stating that the tube would have vented regardless. You did not put gasoline in by mistake did you? Vapors igniting in the crankcase would not be vented rapidly enough through the crank vent tube and could cause the situation you described.
