Doesn’t sound good if the piston gap and ring end gap were all in spec when you went through it. I can’t think of how else you could get that kind of pressure into the crankcase without a piston failure. This would also explain the “tightening” and “loss of power” you experienced. I would pull the pan down and take a look at the cylinders from there. Also, check the bottom of the pan for metal or other evidence.
