You are most likely leaking hydraulic fluid or as it is better known "HY-TRAN". Under the steering colum is the hydraulic valves and steel tubing for the hydraulic system. Best way to find the leak is to remove cover (if still there) and look for the clean spot. If you are lucky, it will be leaking between the hydraulic banks and all you will need to do is change O-rings. My best guess is that you will find a cracked or rusted steel line which is fairly common for your tractor. Let us know what you find and we can try to help from there.
