Jason - It could be 2 things: 1 - The starter drive has jammed in the flywheel gear. To free it up, loosen all the bolts holding the started to the clutch housing. Wiggle the starter around, then retighten the bolts. Or if the tractor is on hard ground, but it into 5th gear then push on a rear tire to rock it backward. Soon as the fan blade moves you will hear a clunk in the starter meaning the drive has freed itself. If this cures the problem, best to get a new starter drive (bendix) soon because it will jam on you again before long. 2 - One or more brushes has failed in the starter. This is less likely however. Failing brushes cause the starter gradually lose power over time - you have plenty of warning before it fails completely. ...Bob M
